BASF Automotive Refinish Coatings Solutions offers high-quality refinish paint brands and paint-related products to body shops from around the world. Our solutions are approved by the world’s leading automotive manufacturers for the repair of their vehicles. We provide collision centers with a vast array of solutions that help drive their business performance and efficiency. We are seeking a professional like you to serve as Business Development Manager for a multi-state territory with emphasis on California markets. We have big goals for our Automotive Refinish group and we’re working hard to become the top provider of automotive refinish coatings.
In this role, you will work with strategic collision center customers to develop their business growth and profitability. You will work across the BASF organization to support the development of new value-added tools/services, new business proposals, and strategic business plans to increase revenues and profits focused on strategic account growth and retention.
Travel for this role is expected to be approximately 50% or more within your assigned geographic territory.
As a Business Development Manager - Automotive Refinish, you create chemistry by...
• Using excellent business acumen, strategic planning, analytical skills, excellent communication, project management and management skills. Executing the business strategy and driving sales growth in the local markets through identifying customer and market needs.
• Working with strategic customers on process improvement, best practices, standard operating procedures, financial performance, and monitoring and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Conducting business reviews with key customers and giving guidance for business improvement.
• Thinking creatively and outside the box to provide the best solutions for our customers.
• Building strong relationships internally and externally to help support our sales goals.
• Using a team approach by working with Account Representatives and Technical Support Specialists to help win new business and support our existing customer base.
• Driving organic sales growth and customer retention through value-based selling and solution development.
If you have...
• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field (preferred); High School diploma acceptable with relevant work experience
• Substantial automotive refinish industry experience required
• Strong customer focus and project management experience
• Strong presentation skills, ability to engage with and educate an audience
• Experience positioning business solutions for commercial success within the refinish industry
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in CRM tools, data analysis, and digital collaboration platforms (preferred)

Pay transparency
BASF is committed to pay transparency practices. The competitive Pay Range for this role is $115,000 - $125,000. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
