Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to drive EnergyUnited’s digital transformation. This role will be pivotal in the discovery, planning, execution, and support of enterprise systems. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Azure cloud migration, Nutanix, VMware, and cybersecurity best practices, while collaborating across teams to ensure optimal performance, security, and member experience.
Key Responsibilities
+ Lead and support cloud migration initiatives, with a focus on Microsoft Azure.
+ Provide advanced guidance on enterprise infrastructure, including Nutanix hyper-converged systems and VMware environments.
+ Partner with cybersecurity analysts to implement and maintain enterprise-wide security measures.
+ Mentor and support team members, fostering professional growth and ensuring project milestones are met.
+ Perform system upgrades, installations, and ongoing maintenance (including security patches).
+ Assist with disaster recovery planning, system documentation, and IT knowledgebase development.
+ Collaborate with vendors and departments to evaluate new IT projects and optimize system processes.
+ Stay current with emerging cloud, networking, and cybersecurity technologies.
Skills & Requirements
Qualifications
+ **Education/Certifications:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field (or equivalent experience).
+ AZ-900 Azure Fundamentals certification required; AZ-104 Azure Administrator certification preferred.
+ **Experience:**
+ 5–10 years in IT supporting enterprise-class infrastructure.
+ Proven expertise with Azure cloud migrations, Nutanix, VMware, Active Directory, and Microsoft Entra.
+ Advanced knowledge of networking (routing, switching, firewalls, IPS/IDS, 802.11x wireless).
+ Strong familiarity with Microsoft O365/M365, Teams, MS SQL, Windows Server & Client OS, and security best practices.
+ Experience with CiscoPrime, SolarWinds, and other monitoring tools.
+ Familiarity with Linux is a plus.
+ **Skills:**
+ Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
+ Effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
+ Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
Working Conditions
+ Full-time, exempt position.
+ Hybrid schedule (2 days per week onsite at the Statesville office; additional onsite work as required).
+ Must reside within one of EnergyUnited’s 19 service counties or within a 40-mile radius of any EnergyUnited EMC office.
+ Must be available for work during adverse weather events, outages, and emergencies.
