Job Description
LRS has prospered for over 30 years because our corporate philosophy embraces honest, ethical and hard-working people. If that describes your approach to IT consulting, we need to talk! LRS Consulting Services is seeking a Sr. Business Systems Analyst – Enterprise Data Integrations for a long-term, hybrid onsite contract opportunity with our client in the west suburbs of Chicago, IL!
LRS Consulting Services has been delivering the highest quality consultants to our clients since 1979. We've built a solid reputation for dealing with our clients and our consultants with honesty, integrity, and respect. We work hard every day to maintain that reputation, and we're very interested in candidates who can help us. If you're that candidate, this opportunity is made for you!
Responsibilities:
+ Lead requirements discovery with internal business stakeholders: plan and facilitate use-case interviews, elicit missing business context, and capture the minimal-but-complete information needed to solve issues.
+ Produce clear, testable functional requirements, acceptance criteria, and user stories that map directly to data and system behavior.
+ Create and maintain current-state documentation: process maps, source-to-target (STM) data mappings, workflow diagrams, system interaction diagrams, and data dependency charts.
+ Perform root-cause analysis for application and data issues by authoring and executing SQL queries to interrogate the data
+ and by reading/executing stored procedures to trace logic and identify triggers and data keys.
+ Analyze stored procedures to understand the execution flow and logic, what data points would trigger workflows, areas for optimization, and document and communicate insights to the development team for areas of improvement or remediation.
+ Participate in and help lead Agile ceremonies: grooming, sprint planning, demos, standups and retrospectives. Maintain and groom the product backlog.
+ Be proactive: find patterns across incidents, recommend process or data design improvements, and document knowledge to reduce future firefighting.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
+ 6+ years experience in Business Analysis, Business Systems Analysis, or a similarly technical BA/support role.
+ Strong hands-on SQL skills, including ability to create investigative custom SQL queries to sort, group, filter large data sets to select down to and organize the relevant information.
+ Experience reading and analyzing stored procedures
+ Strong elicitation & facilitation skills — proven ability to run stakeholder meetings to gather needed context and details of any areas for enhancement, improvement, and issue troubleshooting/remediation from non-technical staff
+ Proven experience working with and creating process mappings, data mappings, and source-to-target (STM) data mappings.
+ Solid experience writing acceptance criteria to a testable level and producing concise business/technical documentation.
+ Comfortable working in legacy systems with limited documentation and frequent firefighting.
+ Demonstrated ability to translate between business and technical teams (business-friendly explanations of technical concepts and vice versa).
+ Candidate must be able to effectively communicate in English (written & verbal).
+ Candidates must have permanent authorization to work in the USA for any employer.
+ Corp to Corp candidates will not be considered.
