    Minimum qualifications:

    + Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

    + 8 years of experience in software development.

    + 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.

    + 5 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.

    + Experience with relational databases and building cloud database services.

    + Experience with AI/ML technologies or infrastructure.

    Preferred qualifications:

    + Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

    + 8 years of experience with data structures/algorithms.

    + 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.

    + 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.

    Cloud SQL is a fully-managed relational database service on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) that simplifies database management and administration. It allows customers to run MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server databases without the need to manage the underlying infrastructure.

     

    In this role, you will build sustainable systems, tools, infrastructure, and best practices to improve quality, simplicity, testability and data integrity. You will be at the forefront of innovation, including building services that empower Generative AI capabilities for Google Cloud Databases.

    The US base salary range for this full-time position is $197,000-$291,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.     Responsibilities

    + Own and drive the design, implementation, quality and rollout of key features that provide new managed databases experiences for the customers.

    + Collaborate with engineering managers, technical leads, and product managers across various teams in Cloud SQL, and relevant teams in Google at large to ensure alignment on direction, plans and execution.

    + Develop long-term strategy and roadmap by collaborating with CloudSQL engineering and stakeholders.

    + Ship Infrastructure and tools to improve developer productivity, release velocity and quality of the CloudSQL Database.

    + Participate in driving GenAI and LLM technologies to accelerate the optimization of CloudSQL infrastructure and product offerings.
