    13457BRJob Description:The role may include rotational assignment(s) within the department. This program is designed to strengthen leadership capabilities to prepare the candidate for advanced roles within our operations or in several disciplines that support our operations. U. S. Steel has an opening for a Manager - Operational Excellence within the Mon Valley Works manufacturing organization.

    Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    + Drive culture changes to instill focus on fact-based management practices via the use of Lean Six Sigma and other problem-solving methodologies

    + Prioritize multiple projects to ensure proper allocation of people and financial resources

    + Accountable for defining, visualizing, and managing performance metrics for work area

    + Conduct problem solving investigations of real issues in plant operations

    + Interact with the operations personnel and provide real solutions to the problems of operating a multi-billion-dollar manufacturing facility.

    + Manage small projects on your own using the DMAIC method, including preparing and submitting the business case, initial planning, development of the scope of work, cost estimation, implementation, tracking and calculating benefits.

    + Monthly impact closing

    + New project development as they come in from managers

    + Accounting summaries for new projects

    + Following up on past due actions and late projects with owners

    + Entering weekly accomplishments and upcoming activities in WAVE for MDO slide development

    + Coordinate Quarterly Updating of Operational Risk Register with Alignment from Plant Operations / Maintenance

    + Metrics data collection and distribution

    + Environmental Weekend Duty

    Candidate Requirements:

    + Degrees preferred: B.S. in Engineering or related technical, Math, Statistics, Economics, Supply Chain, etc.

    + Must have five years or higher of professional work experience

    + Good communication and computer skills

    + Quick learner

    + Experience analyzing data through Minitab, Excel, etc. and creating visualizations through Tableau, SQL a plus
