Northrop Grumman is currently seeking a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer to support the Next Generation Interceptor Lockheed Martin (NGI LM) program.
The scope includes a First Stage Solid Rocket Motor (FSRM) and Thrust Vector Control System (TVCS) systems engineering, design, development, integration, testing, manufacture of Engineering Manufacturing Development (EMD), and flight test articles for the Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) system in support of the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS).
Essential Functions:
+ Work on the NGI LM in a dynamic multi-disciplinary and multi-division environment
+ Regular interface with program management, engineering staff and external customers
+ Execute systems engineering efforts that include direct and in-direct management of engineers with limited oversight from engineering senior leadership personnel in a collaborative environment
+ Solicit, negotiate, track, and verify mission requirements are met through design, test, or analysis
+ Participate in or manage customer directed trade studies and development efforts
+ Present and prepare materials for presentation during critical reviews
+ Perform vehicle performance assessments, and participate in system level verification/data review activities
Basic Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 8 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in STEM with 6 years of related engineering experience, or a PhD in STEM with 4yrs engineering experience
+ US DoD Interim Secret security clearance, or higher at the time of application
+ Strong technical problem solving, written, and verbal communication skills
+ Ability to generate, and document system level launch vehicle requirements
+ Strong resolve to drive tasks to completion autonomously
+ Strong technical problem solving, written and verbal communication skills
+ Familiar with MBSE (Cameo) and DOORS
Preferred Qualifications:
+ MS in Systems engineering, or related engineering discipline
+ US DoD Secret security clearance, or higher at the time of application
Primary Level Salary Range: $118,600.00 - $178,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
