Minimum Experience 0 Summary The Federal Reserve Board (Board) provides students opportunities for career success. The Board’s Internship program is designed to provide valuable work experience for graduate students considering careers including, but not limited to, economics, finance and accounting, information systems, and data analysis. The Board believes that by combining academic endeavors with project-related work experience, qualified and capable college students can gain the practical knowledge need in a competitive global job market. Internships are paid positions with salaries commensurate with credit hours; internships may be in-person, remote or hybrid, depending on the needs of the team. Employment in the Board’s internship program is granted to U.S. citizens. Applicants must be currently enrolled in a graduate degree program at an accredited university and returning to continue studies after the internship. Interns receive a syllabus or research project plan outlining their projects and goals for the internship. Interns are assigned a supervisor or mentor to guide them through their internship, and regular check-in meetings with their manager to manage performance expectations and assist with learning goals. Interns have access to a wide range of training programs and events for professional development purposes. Position Requirements About the Role & Team As the division’s data strategy leader, Data Architecture, Technology, & Analytics (DATA), in the Board's Research & Statistics (R&S) division, is dedicated to improving operational efficiency and supporting innovation through practical, forward-looking solutions. We promote best practices in data architecture and data governance across R&S, ensuring data accessibility and accuracy while promoting accountability in data usage. In alignment with both the R&S data strategy and Board data strategy, DATA serves as a driving force in advancing the division’s data capabilities and focusing on supporting the economic research community. As an intern with DATA, you will support the team in advancing key initiatives focused on modernizing the R&S data environment. This role offers exposure to all functional areas of the team, providing hands-on experience with data analytics, AWS cloud tools, and other technologies. The intern will contribute to a range of assignments, including structured projects and ad-hoc tasks, gaining practical insight into how modern data solutions are developed and implemented in a collaborative environment.  Specific projects/assignments may include:  Developing data pipelines and ML based analytical tools in AWS environment.  Assisting data governance activities including but not limited to data flow diagrams development, data dictionaries development, and data inventory collection.  Compiling and/or analyzing data to prepare dashboards, briefings, and reports for the DATA section.  About You (Background & Skills) Currently enrolled in a graduate degree program in Computer Science, Information Management Systems, Data Analytics, or other related field of study, graduating Aug '26 or later. Strong quantitative skills, including programming experience in python, R and other scripting languages for processing numerical and unstructured data.  Experience in creating complex regular expressions.  Knowledge of AWS cloud Skilled in the graphical representation of information in the form of charts, diagrams, pictures, and dashboards with programs and tools (e.g., Excel, Power Bl, python/R graphics lib).  Excellent oral and written communication skills Excellent organization skills   Please upload a copy of your resume & an unofficial transcript prior to submitting your application.   Requirements U.S. Citizenship required Applicant must be a current student, graduating from their program August 2026 or later.
