Description

We are looking to add a senior credit investor to the investment engine at WTW.

Key responsibilities of the role are as follows:

Clients and Excellence

Investment thought leader for US investment research and allocation functions with a focus on credit/fixed income as well as multi-manager fund solutions:

+ Contribute to firm views on positioning of client portfolios consistent with objectives and house views

+ Conduct solution focused / oriented manager due diligence for the broad asset classes – IG credit, alternative credit, liquid diversifiers / hedge funds and private debt

+ Drive broader research agenda for these exposures given context of end solutions being serviced

+ Contribute to thought leadership where appropriate in broader private markets and liquid solutions

+ Play an active role as a member of the global Credit Research team and asset class investment committees

+ Participate in regular reviews of the credit model portfolios / multi-manager solutions including proactively recommending asset allocation and/or implementation adjustments

+ Proactively consider and make suggestions of potential improvements to process and delivery

+ Lead projects as agreed to research new areas and/or review views of ‘best practice’ portfolio construction in credit

+ Contribute to thought leadership and messaging to internal and external client audiences

+ Coordinate and liaise with Global Portfolio Management Group and Client teams to ensure best ideas are being considered across the organization as appropriate.

+ Be a strong advocate and communicator of the firm’s investment philosophy and process, portfolio views and recommendations – both internally and externally with clients.

People

+ Build strong relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams, including Asset and Manager Research, Investment Committees, Operations, and client delivery teams.

+ Lead colleagues, and actively participate in the knowledge and skills development of others.

+ Contribute to a strong team culture across the credit team

Financial

+ Source and rate strategies which deliver significant value add for our portfolios and clients

+ Contribute to development of scalable processes to deliver value add portfolio management efficiently to multiple clients

+ Contribute to the growth of the delegated business through participation in new business pitches, conferences and other events

+ Develop a maintain a presence in the marketplace to ensure WTW’s credit solutions are viewed as institutional quality and best in class

+ Play prominent role in new business pitches as well as external facing meetings more broadly

Qualifications

The requirements

+ 10+ years of directly relevant experience

+ High degree of understanding of investment principles across multiple asset classes and investment management approaches, with a focus on credit / fixed income and corresponding knowledge of the current universe

+ Experience in researching and/or allocating to credit strategies is required. Experience with credit long / short and other hedge fund oriented strategies a plus

+ Ability to integrate portfolio construction with consideration of strategic goals and risk management requirements

+ Proactive desire to contribute to the ongoing enhancement of our portfolio management capabilities, to ensure they remain ‘best in class’

+ Understanding of practical implementation aspects of day-to-day portfolio management for institutional asset pools, including DB, DC, insurance pools, and not-for-profit

+ Ability to make judgements and decisions in a timely manner in the knowledge that perfect information is not available

+ DC and wealth familiarity and experience is helpful

+ Attention to detail

+ Willingness to delegate effectively, own outcomes, challenge and be challenged

+ Strong communication – be able to justify views and recommendations internally and externally.

+ Focus on efficient and scalable delivery

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range and benefits information for this position are being included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, qualifications/experience, performance in the role and potential for revenue generation (Producer roles only).

Compensation

The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $180,000 to $240,000 USD per year.

The role is also eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus.
