The Psychosis Recruitment and Assessment Core at the University of Pittsburgh and UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital is seeking an Clinical Research Liaison and Assessor I to lead and support a diverse portfolio of clinical research studies of psychosis, with a strong emphasis on neuroimaging modalities (MRI, MEG, EEG), sleep research, pharmacological interventions, and mental health treatments. This role is ideal for a highly motivated individual with a strong background in clinical research, and mental health care, who is passionate about advancing care for individuals with serious mental illness (SMI).
This position is grant funded.
Responsibilities:
+ Coordinate and help manage multiple phases of clinical research studies, including protocol development, recruitment, data collection, and regulatory compliance.
+ Collaborate with a range of researchers to support neuroimaging sessions (MRI, MEG, EEG) and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
+ Collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical teams including psychiatrists, therapists, and care coordinators to recruit participants with psychosis for research studies
+ Work closely with clinical neuroscience and psychiatry researchers and data analysts.
+ Conduct clinical assessments and monitor participant safety, particularly in populations with SMI.
+ Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with institutional and federal guidelines.
+ Train and supervise junior research staff and trainees.
+ Masters degree (MA, MS, MSW) in Psychology, Social Work, or related field from an accredited institution.
+ Direct clinical experience in Psychology or related field. One year of experience in clinical research coordination, preferably involving neuroimaging and/or mental health populations.
+ Demonstrated experience working with individuals with serious mental illness in clinical or research settings.
+ Strong knowledge of research regulations (e.g., GCP, HIPAA) and IRB processes.
+ Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
