    UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital is looking to hire a full-time Crisis Clinician I to assist their Crisis Mobile Expansion team.

     

    Schedule/Shift: Typical work schedule is morning to evening, Monday through Friday. _***Schedule/Hours may be subject to change based on business needs._

    About:

    Mobile Expansion is a unique crisis program that includes a strong outreach component to reach individuals who may be experiencing crisis but are unlikely to reach out for support. This is currently a small but growing program that works closely with County representatives. The program is supervised by an experienced Project Manager. The program has been featured in many ways including award nominations, and UPMC media recognition!

     

    This position involves providing essential follow-up crisis services in the community, supporting individuals after an initial intervention by one of our crisis teams. The role is primarily based in outdoor environments, with regular rounding at various community locations. Team members are expected to maintain a casual yet safe and respectful dress code. Free parking for personal vehicles is available at Resolve's main building.

     

    The focus of this role is to collaborate with existing consumer services, manage resources effectively, and ensure continuity of care for individuals identified as needing additional support. Responsibilities include answering and triaging calls received through the 'Firehouse phone,' offering timely assistance and guidance. At times, the team member may also serve as part of the primary Mobile Expansion Crisis Team.

     

    Under the direction of the Crisis Program Coordinator, the role supports both consumer and clinical services. It includes responding to mobile crisis calls from professionals and individuals throughout Allegheny County, obtaining clinical information, scheduling outpatient evaluations, and providing telephone crisis support. Accurate documentation of all interactions and services is a key component of this position.

    Responsibilities:

    + Manages a caseload for the shift

    + Obtaining clinical information in the medical record

    + Provide supportive counseling to consumers to promote stability.

    + Work efficiently and independently in crisis setting

    + Support consumer and negotiates appropriate referral services.

    + Collaborates with the Clin II such case consultations

    + Meets documentation and completes all required paperwork.

    + Completes face to face crisis assessments

    + Responding to telephone calls from consumer(s) community and natural supports

    + Manages crisis situations effectively

    + Complete case reviews

    + Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Counseling or Social Work with one-year mental health direct care experience

    + OR Master's Degree in Psychology, Counseling or Social Work and no experience.

    + _Other fields of study may be considered with coursework of at least 12 credits in human services and/or relevant mental health experience_

    + Includes phone triaging, as well as an in-depth knowledge and proven skill at doing psychiatric assessments.

    + Experience in mental health crisis intervention, case management, or in-home therapy preferred.

    + Excellent, recovery-oriented interpersonal relations

    + Prior experience in the mental health field preferred

    + Service Coordination skills preferred

    + Comfortability working in an outdoor environmentLicensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

    + Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

    + Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC)

    + Driver's License

    + Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal

    + Act 33 with renewal

    + Act 34 with renewal

    + Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
