    UPMC Washington is seeking a detail-oriented and mission-driven **Program and Operations Officer** to support the Foundation Department's philanthropic initiatives. This key role will oversee program development, operational efficiency, and donor engagement strategies that advance our commitment to improving community health.     Responsibilities:

    + In collaboration with the Executive Director, define, refine and communicate a grant making and grant writing strategies aligned with the foundations health mission.

    + Identify emerging health trends, priority populations, and high-impact intervention areas in collaboration with staff and Board leadership and the engagement of community and Hospital stakeholders.

    + Oversee the application of program priorities in a clear, accessible manner through program guidelines, grantee application tools including an online grant management system, proposal selection, review and award process and ongoing support and review of grantee projects.

    + Communicate effectively with grantees, staff and Board throughout the process.

    + Create and maintain an approach which emphasizes trusting relationships with grantee and community organizations, builds on their assets and leverages support and assistance beyond the check.

    + Create a strategic plan around grant writing with staff members aligning these submissions with the Foundations mission and focusing on the needs of the health and wellbeing of the Washington and Greene Counties.

    + With the Executive Director, cultivate relationships with non-profit organizations, community and government leaders, health system leaders, academic and business partners, and other stakeholders within the broad health impact arena and represent the foundation at meetings, conferences, coalitions and public forums.

    + Ensure effective and regular communication of foundation grantmaking using a variety of means for storytelling and information.

    + Work with the Foundation Team to share stories and positive impact with the community to promote additional grant making and fundraising.

    + Oversee IT infrastructure and vendor relationships with a focus on data security, access to prompt technical assistance for staff, support of public-facing technology and implementation of upgrades.Schedule: The selected candidate will have the flexibility to set their work hours within the range of 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. While the primary schedule is weekdays, occasional evening or weekend hours may be required to support special events. Travel may be necessary for meetings, educational programming, or donor engagement activities. This role is primarily in-person, but offers the flexibility to work remotely as well!

    + Bachelors degree required; advanced degree preferred; credentialing as CFRE is preferred.

    + Understanding of the non-profit landscape, including challenges, best practices, and key issues within the foundations focus areas of Washington and Greene Counties.

    + Eight years or more in grantmaking or funding, nonprofit program management, health or human services, administration.

    + Experience in managing a team in a complex environment.

    + Demonstrated leadership ability.

    + Experience in staff management.

    + Knowledge of and experience with grant making and grant writing.

    + Keen understanding of the role and use of conducting thorough research to identify potential grantees and understanding complex issues.

    + Outstanding verbal and written skills.

    + Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize.

    + Vision and experience to assist in building a best practices operational enterprise with a team approach.

    + Ability to critically evaluate information, assess program effectiveness, and make informed funding decisions.

    + Ability to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders, including non-profit leaders, foundation staff, and board members.

    + Capability to manage a portfolio of grants, track progress, and ensure timely reporting.

    + Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with non-profit organizations a community connector.Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
