Engineering Intern|Raleigh,NC|HIRING IMMEDIATELY

Starting Pay Rate:$25.00 per hour

Available Shift: Part Time (flexible on hours)

Candidates must be pursuing degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering, at NC State College Only.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

+ Perform research, design and development, evaluation, and improvement of manufacturing processes and methods including production flow and production equipment.

+ Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and design layout of equipment and workspaces for maximum efficiency.

+ Evaluate current manufacturing systems to determine areas for improvement and recommend implementation schedules.

+ Complete projects related to cost reduction/savings, Continuous Improvement and Lean activities, and Automation Implementation.

+ Serve as participating member for teams during Kaizen events and follow up to assist supervisors to sustain work improvements.

+ Design, develop, and test and/or source and cost-justify various tools, machinery, and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.

+ Confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards.

+ Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.

+ Distribute product/part drawings to appropriate plant personnel.

+ Assist in developing our equipment database in Maintenance Connect, our CMMS software. This includes adding/updating documentation, drawings, BOM’s, etc.

+ Assist in maximizing the efficient utilization of the parts room and make recommendations on improving processes and organization.

Qualifications:

+ Understanding of Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques, Quality Control, and attention to detail.

+ Strong problem analysis and problem resolution.

+ Must be a well-organized and self-directed individual who is a team player.

+ Strong mathematical and analytical skills.

+ Advanced Microsoft Suite knowledge preferred.

+ 2D and/or 3D CAD knowledge strongly preferred.
