    Minimum Qualifications:

    + Two years of professional experience in historic preservation, history, public history, geography, architectural history, architecture, anthropology, archaeology, urban planning, or other related fields. At least three years of coursework towards a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in one of the fields listed may substitute for the years of experience required.

    + Ability to effectively communicate and relate ideas through verbal and written means.

    + Ability to provide customer service assistance to the public, in person and through telephone or email.

    + Experience using the Microsoft Office suite of computer applications

    Preferences:

    + Experience with Geographic Information System software or similar programs

    + Experience in archaeology, historic preservation, public history, architectural history, architecture, or anthropology

    + Experience working with or maintaining historical or archival collections

    + Experience using and/or an understanding of relational databases

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    This is a professional position that assists citizens, government agencies and historic preservation professionals in performing cultural resource searches, obtaining information from our inventory and in the recording of cultural resources in Florida:

    Duties for this position include but are not limited to:

    + Conducting various Site File database searches

    + ArcGIS geo-spatial searches for recorded cultural resources

    + Assigning new site identification numbers

    + Processing data of submitted manuscripts and surveys.

    + Performs other related duties as required.

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    + Ability to effectively communicate and relate ideas through verbal and written means.

    + Ability to provide customer service assistance to the public, in person and through telephone or email.
