    Department Summary:

    The Center for Integrated Transportation (CIT) within the MITRE Corporation is seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and customer-focused Business Operations Analyst to join the CIT Program Management Office (P261) located in McLean, VA. CIT runs the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Center for Advanced Aviation System Development (CAASD) federally funded research and development center (FFRDC) and executes a diverse work program supporting the FAA and other customers. Our department is focused on providing program management support to the CAASD FFRDC and the divisions within CIT. The department works closely with other organizations across MITRE to ensure the CIT work program is executed effectively and efficiently. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team who is excited to take on new challenges, proactively solve problems, learn new things, and embrace a culture of speed, adaptability, risk-taking, collaboration, and grace and respect.

    Roles & Responsibilities:

    + Work closely with the P261 Senior Business Operations Analysts and P261 Senior Manager to address known and emerging operational needs of the Center through the following duties:

    + Interact with Global Security Services (GSS), Finance, P260 staff, and across CIT to enable day-to-day business operations and recurring business activities with a focus on requests for FAA Suitability, FAA PIV badges, FAA E-mail accounts and network access, and FAA GFE laptops.

    + Enhance content and timeliness of proactive communications to and response to questions from MITRE staff and subcontractors on FAA Suitability and PIV request requirements

    + Identify and help solve core problems or opportunities for improvement within selected business processes. Design and implement business process solutions and enabling technology capabilities to address the core problems and improve operational efficiency.

    + Collaborate with CIT PMO team and partner organizations (Finance, Contracts, GSS, etc.) on recommending and implementing solutions to address process gaps and improve process efficiency and effectiveness

    + Conduct business operations data collection and business intelligence capabilities (e.g., Tableau or PowerBI dashboards) to measure business operations performance and inform business operations decisions.

    + Perform data entry and ensure data integrity and quality within the CAASD Tracker system to align data with enabling COBI dashboards for internal and external (sponsor) reporting.

    + Investigate data quality issues and proactively take actions to resolve the data errors or gaps. Engage with CIT Outcome Leaders, Department Managers, Project Leaders, Finance teams, and P260 analytics team to implement necessary fixes and updates to correct data quality issues and ensure they are not repeated.

    + Manage, facilitate, and serve as Clarity delegate for project-related staffing, allocation management, budgeting, and all related activities.

    + Assist in managing (defining, developing, executing, tracking completion, and conducting follow-up to obtain 100% completion) CIT-related annual training requirements including but not limited to CIT Data Security, FAA Office of Security and Hazardous Materials Safety (ASH) Security Awareness Virtual Initiative (SAVI), and DOT Cybersecurity and Privacy Awareness (SAT)

    + Assist in planning and executing CAASD and P260-related special events / projects / requests (e.g., in-person CAASD quarterly sponsor review meetings)

    + Contribute to development of material on operational topics for CIT Integration and Operations (I&O) meetings and E-mail communications with CIT Department Managers, Outcome Leaders, and Project Leaders on topics of interest

    + Provide surge support for the CAASD product delivery process

    Basic Qualifications:

    + Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree with relevant experience who can immediately contribute at this job step; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.

    + Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or applicants who are eligible for security clearances.

    + Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including MS Office (PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel), MS Teams, SharePoint; familiarity with knowledge sharing tools including Confluence.

    + Self-motivated, detail-oriented, action-oriented problem solver, with excellent communication skills who can work collaboratively as part of a team and with limited direct supervision.

    + Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communication skills

    + Experience developing sophisticated presentation materials for manager-level audience

    + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to collaborate effectively and tactfully with colleagues at every level of the organization

    + Strong self-organization, time management skills with demonstrated ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize work under tight deadlines

    + High-level of business acumen with attention to detail

    + Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with independent decision-making

    + Operates as a dependable partner who is proactive and can anticipate business leaders' needs

    + Competent in the latest telecommunications and desktop technologies and be willing to learn new technologies and processes quickly

    + The ability to lead others, or collaborate, in an effective and trustworthy way

    + Strong skills in organization and planning to prioritize tasks, set meetings, and diffuse work conflict

    + This position requires a minimum of 4 days a week on-site

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Knowledge of MITRE business processes and supporting enterprise tools (e.g., Clarity, Salesforce, Tableau

    + Previous experience supporting a large, dynamic, fast paced team

    + Passion for improving efficiency of operations, leveraging new technology and best practices
