Responsibilities:
GENERAL PURPOSE
Provides specialized depth and breadth of expertise in the design, implementation and dissemination of advanced analytics and data science projects. Works with and advises key stakeholders to provide analysis and insights to enable data-driven decision-making. Provides leadership and mentorship in the development and evolution of advanced statistical and mathematical methods, including machine learning capabilities. Works in partnership with, and provides guidance to, team members solving complex problems to ensure robust, scalable analytics solutions and implementing them efficiently and effectively across the enterprise.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
+ Translates complex data into insights and compelling stories.
+ Presents data models, analyses and visuals, including dynamic visuals such as dashboards, to internal and external stakeholders.
+ Iterates and refines based on feedback.
+ Makes recommendations and provides actionable insight to stakeholders based on analysis.
+ Partners with operational and clinical leaders to implement recommendations and provides consultation as needed.
+ Provides expert consultation to high-level external stakeholders, including senior and executive leadership.
+ Guides strategy and influences project priorities, direction and scoping.
+ Understands underlying clinical and research requirements and formulates, designs and executes analytical solutions to support them.
+ Reviews and approves team’s analysis and analytic products.
+ Analyzes and models structured data and implements algorithms to support analysis using advanced statistical and mathematical methods.
+ Designs, develops and implements robust, reproducible processes to prepare, extract and enrich a variety of structured and unstructured data sources.
+ Provides scalable solutions and collaborates on dissemination efforts.
+ Creates and implements data science solutions to support analytical efforts and expand dashboard capabilities.
+ Leads team in developing, managing and executing project plans.
+ Offers subject matter expertise on ML and related analytic approaches.
+ Completes agile development of data models, ML pipelines, dashboards and reporting.
+ Cultivates new data sources to offer insights and analyses needed for research and decision-making.
+ Maintains current knowledge base and expertise relative to the technology and software used by functional areas being supported.
+ Assigns and reviews the work of assigned personnel.
+ Instructs personnel on established standards and provides technical knowledge and guidance to ensure optimum efficiency and project progress.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
+ Bachelor's degree and 4 years of relevant experience required
+ Master's degree preferred
+ Or equivalent combination of education and experience
+ Considerable experience with relational databases required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
+ Strong attention to detail, ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems, and strong critical thinking skills required
+ Strong analytic, qualitative and quantitative data analysis skills, with demonstrated ability to break down complex problems into phased deliverables required
+ Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, including the ability to describe data science concepts to lay/nonexpert audiences required
+ Proficiency with Python (or R), including common machine/deep learning libraries and their implementation required
+ Fluency with data visualization tools, such as Tableau, Spotfire or PowerBI required
+ Ability to work independently and successfully complete assigned tasks on time without direct oversight required
