    2026 Intern \- Product Development Engineer

    Description

    Responsibilities:

    + Perform a broad range of engineering duties associated with assigned program\(s\) as defined in our processes

    + Support the creation of engineering models / drawings

    + Apply engineering disciplines and analysis including: DFMEA, FEA, GDT &T, DVP&R, and Control Plan in accordance to QS9000 and customer requirements

    + Develop and maintain an open liaison relationship with customer engineering

    + Provide trial, launch, and post launch support at supplier, Kautex, and OEM manufacturing sites\. Supports the continuous quality improvement process by continually evaluating products & processes for potential incremental performance enhancements

    + Capture Lessons Learned for future programs

    + Support prototype manufacturing groups to supply prototype parts / assemblies to the customer’s satisfaction

    + Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned \(i\.e\. maintaining open issues, lessons learned, and after action review data, design scorecard, prototype fabrication and sample distribution, and test support\)

    + Complete Engineering Changes via ECMS or ECN Qualifications

    Qualifications

    + Currently pursuing University Degree in Engineering, preferably Plastics Engineering or Mechanical Engineering

    + Knowledge or ability in at least one of the following Core Skills: Systems Engineering, Thermal Management, Mechatronics, Electronics, Composite Material, Circular Economy, Value Selling

    + Knowledge of engineering functions such as: testing and validation, program/project management, quality management, Measurement Technology/Statistical Process Control, Technical Documentation, Materials and Processing, DFMEA and PFMEA process

    + Strong communication and presentation skills

    + Automotive related experience and working knowledge of Six Sigma a plus

    + Professional competencies required: Learning on the Fly, Compassion, Dealing with Ambiguity, Drive for Results, Organization\.
