We are seeking a seasoned Litigation Counsel to lead a team of litigation attorneys in providing strategic direction across a broad portfolio of disputes including complex commercial litigation, product liability, corporate & securities litigation, and cross-border arbitration. This is a highly visible role reporting to the VP & Chief Counsel, Global Litigation & Investigations and interacting regularly with GE Aerospace senior executives.
Responsibilities:
+ Support the development and implementation of litigation strategies across various business units and jurisdiction
+ Manage active litigation in U.S. and international forums, including coordinating pleadings, discovery, motion practice, trials, appeals, and arbitrations.
+ Provide counsel to stakeholders and cross-functional teams on dispute resolution strategy, litigation risk, and legal exposure associated with key business initiative
+ Oversee internal litigation reporting, legal holds, and e-discovery protocols.
+ Supervise in-house litigation attorneys and support staff to ensure effective case management and team development. Work with outside counsel and legal vendors to ensure quality and cost-effective representation.
+ Track and assess legal and regulatory developments impacting the company’s litigation profile, particularly in aerospace, defense, and high-risk jurisdictions.
+ Participate in corporate policy development and governance initiatives related to litigation, document retention, dispute resolution, and regulatory issues.
+ Support and lead initiatives to use artificial intelligence and other technologies to support the work of the legal team
Qualifications:
+ JD from accredited U.S. law school
+ Minimum 12-15 years of litigation experience, with significant tenure at a top-tier law firm and/or in-house legal department
+ Licensed to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
Preferred Qualifications & Attributes:
+ Substantial experience handling complex commercial disputes, including contract disputes, trade secrets / intellectual property, and class actions.
+ Experience managing global litigation portfolios and/or complex commercial litigation matters.
+ Demonstrated leadership of significant litigation and arbitration matters.
+ Background in aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated industries a plus.
+ Strong executive presence, sound judgment, and ability to advise at the highest levels of the organization.
The salary pay range for this position is $285,000 - $320,000. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus and annual equity grants.
