Description

Auto Mechanic

This person will possess a strong skilled foundation in automotive repair and diagnostics, with the flexibility to work on a variety of equipment and handle changing assignments. This role requires hands-on mechanical expertise, computer proficiency, and a commitment to safety and reliability.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

+ Perform routine and advanced repairs on vehicles, including:

+ Brake systems

+ Air conditioning (AC) units

+ Front-end components

+ Engine and transmission diagnostics and repairs

+ Conduct body work and exhaust repairs (preferred but not required)

+ Service and repair other types of equipment as needed

+ Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve issues

+ Maintain accurate records through data entry and logs

+ Operate within the Mitchell work order system

+ Comply with safety council requirements and pass drug testing

+ Work in various outdoor environments and weather conditions

+ Accept fluid assignments and adapt to changing work priorities

+ Participating in overtime as required

+ Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required for this Position:

**Education:** High school diploma or equivalent

**Certifications/ Licenses:** Driver’s License & TWIC Card

**Experience: –** **Hands-on Automotive Experience** in motor and transmission work

General computer knowledge and comfort with digital systems

**Diagnostic Skills Experience** using diagnostic tools and interpreting results in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues.

**Equipment Versatility** Comfortable servicing various types of equipment beyond standard vehicles.

**Software Proficiency Experience** with Mitchell work order system or similar automotive service platforms.
