    Smurfit Westrock Packaging Solutions (Harrison, AR)


    The Opportunity

     

    The Commercial Driver -Non CDL position for Smurfit Westrock Packaging Solutions involves driving a company straight truck to deliver product to our customers. Driver routes will typically be 2-6 stops per route, will require the driver to unload via lift gate with pallet jack, and transport/place palletized product inside the customers\u2019 location. Drivers will be expected to use ELD and log all activity and follow all state and federal regulations. Routes are <150 miles round trip but could be longer including interstate depending on DC location.

    How You Will Impact Smurfit Westrock Packaging Solutions:

    * Safely operates truck for the delivery of products and materials.

    * Perform vehicle inspections as required.

    * Operate mobile apps on phone for ELD and proof of delivery.

    * Provide outstanding customer service during delivery.

    * Follow all safety rules for equipment and material handling as required by DOT, OSHA, and Company safety programs.

    * Ensure all orders are delivered in good condition and in full as per the bill of lading.

    * Communicate effectively with operations staff about customer concerns.

    * Utilize material handling equipment, such hand trucks.

    What You Need to Succeed:

    * Current CDL Class B license (If we post Non-CDL is CDL B requirement? Or can they have reg DL and current DOT card? )

    * No preventable motor vehicle violations within last 12 months

    * Current medical certification card.

    * Two or more-year(s) experience driving a straight truck.

    * Do we want them to have any forklift or possible machine operating experience?

    * General fluency in English required, verbal and written

    * Basic computer literacy preferred

    * High school diploma or equivalent preferred

    * Perform job duties in severe weather conditions: heat, cold, rain, etc.

    * Sit and drive for up to 10 hours of time without assistance.

    * Lift 50 pounds repeatedly and without assistance or equipment.

    * Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
