Company Description
We are currently searching for an experienced **IT Asset and Inventory Specialist** to join our growing company. This is a fast-paced environment, so we are seeking a highly energetic individual who is a team player and has strong people skills. This role is based at our Corporate Office in West Houston.
Job Description
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The role of the IT Asset and Inventory Specialist is to ensure that the company’s inventory and physical assets are managed effectively.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Work and negotiate with vendors to secure the best deals
+ Monitor and maintain accurate inventory of all hardware and software, tracking licenses, and maintenance of these records
+ Responsible for software license reconciliation and true-up processes if necessary
+ Follows asset management procedures and utilizes the service desk ticketing system
+ Conducts monthly inventory audits to ensure company’s guidelines are followed
+ Perform weekly inventory counts for IT Inventory in hardware new and used
+ Coordinates with Service Desk Technicians to procure equipment for users
+ Assist management to document and modify asset and inventory processes as needed
+ Coordinates with the transition team to compile inventory reports for new partnerships and verify compliance
+ Stage and process equipment for retirement and the disposal of retired inventory
+ Effectively, professionally, and respectfully represents Information Technology to all staff members, teams, and users.
+ Follows purchasing processes and orders equipment as needed
+ Follows policies and procedures laid out by the company
+ Other duties as assigned by Manager of IT Support
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:

EXPERIENCE:
Experience in hardware inventory, software inventory, and basic operating system functionality or equivalent training and/or education is extremely beneficial. Customer service experience is preferred.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
This position requires handling confidential information in an appropriate manner. All communications with vendors and employee interactions must be handled with diplomacy and tact. Individuals must be able to gauge the technical ability of the persons they are speaking with to efficiently communicate appropriate technical or non-technical needs maintaining a non-condescending tone.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
+ Experience in Hardware and Software Inventory a must
+ Knowledge of computer and peripheral equipment and components is preferred
+ At least one year IT experience a plus.
+ Must be able to learn new and adapt to quickly-changing technologies.
+ Excellent interpersonal skills
+ Good work habits under pressure
+ High energy level
+ High attention to detail
+ Excellent organizational skills
+ Must have a good command of the English language to provide effective phone, desk-side, and email support.
+ ManageEngine Service Desk Plus experience is preferred

+ Pushing and pulling carts when necessary
+ Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
+ Manual dexterity in typing and using the 10-key calculator is required.
