Summary:

The Nurse Externship is a summer employment opportunity for current BSN students in a traditional four-year nursing program.

The externship will enable you to strengthen and reinforce your knowledge and skill in the practice of nursing under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, bridging the gap between classroom and real-world clinical experiences.

As a Nurse Extern, you will work in an assigned unit caring for patients as well as spend time each week in the classroom with our Nurse Educators participating in discussion groups and skill workshops.

Qualifications:

Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA or better in their BSN program

Must have completed the Nursing Foundations/ Fundamentals Clinical Course

Must be a rising senior (summer between junior and senior years)

Must have current BLS certification through the American Heart Association

Must be available for all times/ shifts and working weekends

Additional Information:

Program runs for 8 weeks from June 1st - July 24th

HUP Main positions available in: Advanced Medicine, Surgery, Emergency Dept, Women's Health, Critical Care & Cardiology

HUP Cedar positions available in: Medicine, Emergency Dept & Behavioral Health
