Cartamundi is responsible for sales and distribution of its own American household Playing Card and Games brands like BICYCLE®, BEE®, KEM®, ARISTOCRAT® and HOYLE®. Internationally, Cartamundi owns many other leading brands such as Fournier®, Shuffle®, COPAG®, Grimaud®, Color Addict® to name few.
Next to our own brands, we are the manufacturer of excellence for our customer’s nostalgic card and boardgames and collectable cards such as Monopoly®, Pokémon®, UNO®, Disney, Harry Potter and Magic the Gathering®.
The Buyer will be accountable for the purchase of a wide variety of materials, equipment, and services in support of the manufacturing of the world’s most popular playing Card game, Trading Card Game, and Board Game brands in the world!
What You'll Do as a Buyer:
+ Understand and negotiate Terms and Conditions purchase orders
+ Manage supplier claims and back charges
+ Generate purchase orders working closely with scheduling and suppliers on timely delivery.
+ Resolve discrepancies between order acknowledgements and purchase orders
+ Resolve receiving and invoice discrepancies
+ Expedite purchase orders to maintain current PO records
+ Negotiate discounts with suppliers
+ Competitively bid products to maintain the best price, lead time and quality
+ Work with suppliers to improve their performance where applicable. Communication issues, late deliveries, etc.
+ Administrative duties for the department, new item creation, annual price record updates, record retention, etc.
+ Knowledge and understanding of planning as a function. How it impacts purchasing activities and how purchasing/supplier actions have an impact on the production plan.
+ Distribute bid packages for obtaining quotes to identify and establish appropriate sources of supply
+ Negotiate specifications, price, service, delivery, quality, and other factors
+ Track and monitor key cost drivers and market factors and prepare market updates as required
+ Maintain long-term relationships with suppliers supporting cost, quality, delivery, and inventory objectives
+ Develop and implement sourcing strategies to support a competitive advantage and cost reduction targets and opportunities
+ Develop creative solutions to issues related to cost, quality, delivery, and inventory management
+ Analyze capabilities of prospective new suppliers and coordinated due diligence for new supplier qualification

+ Is analytical, proactive, and organized
+ Works independently with minimal supervision
+ Is results oriented with a high attention to detail
+ Can work in a team environment
+ Exercises sound business judgement
+ Possesses tact to know when to consult manager on issues
We're Looking for Someone With:
+ A bachelor’s degree preferably in business management.
+ 3+ years of buying experience in consumer products for large distribution or manufacturing company
+ Knowledge of MRP systems/SAP preferred
+ Strong negotiation skills
+ Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
+ Knowledge of lean technologies
