Job description
As a Repair Engineer within Safran Nacelles Services Americas, MRO station based in Indianapolis, you will be in charge of the Design and the Substantiation of the repairs for Aircraft nacelles components.
Your Responsabilities:
• Design repair solutions for damages on composite and metallic parts.
• Substantiate structural strength of the repair conducting static and fatigue analysis, based on Safran Nacelles existing previous cases and referential guidelines
• Write associated repair or replacement procedures, and stress notes.
• Lead the repair cases and obtain the necessary approvals within Safran Nacelles or third parties.
• Coordinate with shop floor supplier, planner and mechanics the implementation of the repairs.
• Continuously improve production efficiency and quality to meet key metrics.
• Collect repair history and work on generic repair solutions to improve future work.
• Take an active role in the team: 5S, QRQC, continuing improvement.
• Occasionally act as the Back-Up for the Engineering Manager, providing a technical support to the back office and production department, ensuring minimum time loss.
Candidate skills & requirements
• Comfortable with Technical documentation such as maintenance manuals and engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of composite and metallic structure.
• Understanding the fundamental methods of static stress analysis, finite elements methods (FEM). (Potential training period in Safran Nacelles France (Normandy) to be provided)
• Good English writing and speaking level.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good organizational skills and attention to details
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
• Positive attitude and agreeable to work with in an office environment
• Software: MS Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Etc.
• Finite Elements Analysis software: MATLAB, Patran, Nastran.
• 3D Mock-up Design software: CATIA, Fusion, Solidworks.
