GNC Modeling & Simulation Intern

**Description:** Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control is seeking a Guidance Navigation and Control Intern in Orlando, FL\. In this role, you will support Integrated Air and Missile Defense \(IAMD\) Internal Research and Development \(IRAD\) efforts\. The main task is to support development of advanced algorithms for a new IAMD interceptor\. Other responsibilities include written and oral communication of the tool\(s\) developments, operations, and results\. The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills, proficiency in either Matlab or Python, and have have demonstrated the ability to perform one or more of the following Guidance, Navigation and Control \(GNC\) or Modeling and Simulation \(M&S\) assignments based on completed course work or professional experience:
o Develop and analyze algorithms such as guidance, navigation, autopilot, inertial tracking, and servo control algorithms
o Develop and/or verify/validate complex vehicle models and simulations such as missile 6\-degree\-of\-freedom simulations
o Demonstrate strong math skills in the areas of linear algebra, matrix math, statistics, trigonometry, and coordinate transformations
Must be a US Citizen\. This position is located at a facility that requires special access\.
Basic Qualifications:
• Candidate must be enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in computer science, physics, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, applied mathematics, or similar
• Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance\. This position is located at a facility that requires special access\.
• Proficient in either Matlab or Python
Desired Skills:
• Candidate should have foundational proficiency in C\+\+
• Candidate should have demonstrated the ability to perform one or more of the following Guidance, Navigation and Control \(GNC\) or Modeling and Simulation \(M&S\) assignments based on completed course work or professional experience:
