    Position Description:

    The Senior Systems Engineer role is to ensure the efficient operation and security compliance of the company’s data centers, Microsoft Azure systems, client and job centralized servers, databases, and equipment. This role will also lead and direct IT systems engineer specialist teams in building, managing, supporting, and maintaining solutions according to departmental policy.

    Position Qualifications:

    + College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or 10+ years equivalent work experience.

    + Certifications in Microsoft Azure equivalent to MCSE, VMware VCP-DCV (advanced), Cisco CCNP and ITIL are required.

    + Strong system administration (Linux/Unix and Windows) at the command-line level.

    + Hands-on experience in System design, IT Architecture, Networking, Infrastructure operations and operational stability to transform the way the teams operate to ensure delivery of high-quality systems/applications.

    + Ensure High Availability (HA) of Enterprise Critical Application platform (Load-Balancers). Microsoft Application Request Routing (ARR)

    + Ensure security compliance across the entire enterprise domain through continuous evolution of the auditing and remediation program.

    + Experience with architecting new systems, establishing infrastructure standards/processes and ensuring teams adhere to standards, maintain technical diagrams and documentation, Infrastructure/ Architecture design, Configuration, and implementation, leading and guiding other team members and responsible for monitoring all production and non-production systems.

    + Experience working in Azure cloud infrastructure with a hands-on experience using Azure resources and Services. Also experience with Platform Sizing, Infrastructure Cost Reduction

    + Hands-On experience (IAC) utilizing Terraform or Ansible.

    + Act as a Subject Matter Expert for cloud end-to-end architecture, including Azure and future providers, networking, provisioning, and management.

    + Knowledge of infrastructure automation, monitoring, logging, reporting and ability to adopt industry best practices and build high-performance infrastructures that are self-healing, scalable & resilient.

    + Expert in configuring Dell Server/Storage Hardware

    + Experience in setting up and deploying Forward/Reverse Proxies

    + Extensive knowledge in VMware vSphere (6.x - 7.x) Hypervisor including VMware NSX, Storage vSAN and iSCSI targets.

    + Microsoft ADFS, DirSync/AzureConnect, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, GPO, SRS, FRS, RADIUS, Microsoft NLB, Microsoft Failover Clustering, IIS, Microsoft PKI/CA/SSL certificate infrastructure

    + Microsoft RDS (Farms, RDSH, RDG, RDWA, NPS (CAP & RAP), RDCB and UPD)

    + Microsoft SQL Database Administration (SQL queries, SQL PROCs, Database health maintenance, performance, backup, restore) SQL server 2012, 2014, and 2019.

    + Scripting in Python or similar general-purpose scripting environment (VBS, PowerShell and Batch/CMD scripting)

    + Windows Server 2012, 2016 and 2019 Datacenter OS level.

    + Manage Exchange Servers 2010, 2016 and 2019 in DAG (Database Availability Group) environment (Client Access, Hub Transport and Mailbox rules)

    + Networking Knowledge (minimum CCNA Level)

    + Excellent troubleshooting skills and root cause analysis

    + Help plan, maintain, improve Infrastructure BCDR (Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery)

    + Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

    + Able to conduct research into networking issues and products as required.

    + Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.

    + Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.

    + Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.

    + Able to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.

    Essential Duties:

    + Aid the IT Infrastructure Manager in the development of IT strategies in collaboration with the other IT team members with specific focus on infrastructure service delivery and life cycle management.

    + Implementing and maintain policies and procedures set by the IT leadership.

    + Deploy, manage, and maintain the enterprise’s infrastructure Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plan set by the IT Infrastructure manager and IT leadership.

    + Prepare and ensure accuracy of documentation, procedures manuals, and help sheets for all IT infrastructure systems.

    + Design and implement redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of data assets.

    + Help plan, maintain, and improve BCDR (Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery) policies

    + Conduct research and make recommendations on data center products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.

    + Oversee new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.

    + Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network, cloud, and data center products and services.

    + IT infrastructure. You can design, implement, administer and support infrastructure technologies, solutions and services such as: computing, storage, networking, physical infrastructure, software, COTS and open-source packages and solutions, and virtual and cloud computing, including IaaS, PaaS and SaaS.

    + Information security. You understand information security and the types of security controls that can be used to mitigate security threats within solutions and services.

    + Modern standards approach. You use a modern standard approach competently and guide others in so doing.

    + Ownership and initiative. You can own an issue until a new owner has been found or the problem has been mitigated or resolved.

    + Problem solving. You can initiate and monitor actions to investigate patterns and trends to resolve problems, including consulting specialists where required. You can determine the appropriate remedy and assists with implementation of it as well as preventative measures.

    + Service focus. You take inputs and establish coherent frameworks that work.

    + Systems design. You design systems characterized by medium levels of risk, impact, and business or technical complexity. You select appropriate design standards, methods and tools and ensure they are applied effectively. You review the systems designs of others to ensure selection of appropriate technology, efficient use of resources and integration of multiple systems and technology.

    + Systems integration. You can define the integration build. You can coordinate build activities across systems and understand how to undertake and support integration-testing activities.

    + Technical understanding (Infrastructure engineer). You can explain the technical concepts required in the role and understand how these fit into the wider technical landscape.

    + Testing. You can review requirements, specifications and define test conditions. You can identify issues and risks associated with work while being able to analyze and report test activities and results.

    + Troubleshooting and problem resolution. You can break a problem down into its component parts to identify and diagnose root causes. You can troubleshoot and identify problems across different technology capabilities.

    Physical Work Classification & Demands:

    • Light Work. Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

    • The individual in this position will periodically walk, kneel, sit, crouch, reach, stoop, read/see, speak, push, pull, lift, stand, and finger/type. The frequency of each action varies by workflow and office activity.

    • Walking - The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, boxes, cabinets, etc.

    • Constantly operates a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, phone, computer, and computer printer.

    • The person in this position frequently communicates with employees and external stakeholders regarding a variety of topics related to office administration.

    • Constantly computes, analyzes, and conceptualizes mathematical calculations and formulas.

    • The person in this position regularly sits in a stationary position in front of a computer screen.

    • Visual acuity and ability to operate a vehicle as certified and appropriate.

    • Rarely exposed to high and low temperatures

    • Rarely exposed to noisy environments and outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind.
