    Your role and responsibilities

    As a senior technical leader, you will spearhead the design and development of advanced superconducting qubit packaging architectures. You will leverage deep expertise to guide design choices and contribute to hands-on development. This role requires extensive experience with advanced packaging techniques, as well as experience working with superconducting qubit hardware. Beyond direct technical contributions, you will provide mentorship, shape the technical vision, and play a strategic role in advancing IBM’s quantum hardware roadmap. We are seeking a collaborative team player with significant experience working across diverse disciplines and the ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to stakeholders.

    Required technical and professional expertise

    * 20+ years of experience in a semiconductor research laboratory

    * 15+ years in advanced packaging development

    * 10+ years mentoring engineers

    * 10+ years in technical leadership roles

    * 3+ years of experience with superconducting qubit packaging

    Preferred technical and professional experience

    * Hands-on cleanroom experience with strong knowledge of CMOS processes and materials

    * Familiarity with MEMS fabrication techniques

    * Experience with processes and tooling for large-scale device fabrication (e.g., displays)
