    The primary focus of this 17-bed unit is exceptional care of Medical/Surgical and Cardiology Step-down patients, including but not limited to: Cardiothoracic, Transplant, Vascular, Orthopaedic, Urology, Colorectal and Spine surgeries. In addition to, Coronary and Electrophysiological interventions. This care is given in a state-of-the-art therapeutic environment by staff specifically trained in all of the clinical care areas, as well as the service of high amenity patients.

     

    Dedicated to providing high quality patient care, our J83 caregivers deliver care to cardiothoracic, spine, urology, plastics, colorectal, orthopedics, neurology, bariatric and transplant surgical patients. They also provide care to congestive heart failure patients, cardiac arrhythmia patients and those with any other medical condition requiring acute care.

     

    A caregiver in this position works part-time hours 7a-7:30p / rotating weekends and holidays is required.

    A caregiver who excels in this role will:

    + Collect, document and report patient data and observations.

    + Implement care plans as directed by an RN and contribute to care plan revisions.

    + Administer medications and/or treatments authorized by a provider and observe patients for adverse reactions.

    + Perform routine laboratory tests.

    + Educate patients and family members.

    Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

    + Graduate of an accredited practical or vocational nursing program.

    + Current Ohio license as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

    + Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).

    Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

    + One year of patient care experience.

    Physical Requirements:

    + Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination.

    + Involves extensive standing and walking.

    + Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

    + Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

    + Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

    Personal Protective Equipment:

    + Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
