Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Mammography Technologist, you will perform mammographic procedures by applying proper ionizing radiation coupled with accurate positioning, compression, and processing techniques to obtain high-quality diagnostic images for interpretation by Radiologist. Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.

+ You will perform all mammography, needle localization, ductograms and Stereotactic breast biopsy procedures

+ You will assist physicians and radiologist during procedures requiring sterile technique

+ You will assists in maintaining quality control program

+ You will assess patient’s condition prior to and during all procedures

+ You are responsible for safe handling of equipment and films

+ You will instruct and prepare patients for all mammography procedures

+ You will process x-ray film and maintains all processor quality assurance daily

+ You will practice medical and surgical aseptic procedures

+ You will maintain mammographic records and reports

What qualifications you will need:

+ One year experience as a Mammography Technologist

+ Graduate from a school of Radiologic Technology approved by the American Medical Association

+ Current Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) certification with Texas Medical Board (TMB)

+ American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification in Mammography (ARRT (M))

+ Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per St. David’s Healthcare policy
