    Job Summary and Qualifications

     

    Assists with federal/state/international income tax research, tax audits, tax planning models, and related financial statement items.

    The tax department is comprised of approximately 65 people and is divided into 3 main areas (all of which work closely together):

    1. Compliance (prepares federal and state income/franchise tax returns)

    2. Research & Consulting (handles federal and state income/franchise tax audits as well as research & planning associated with federal, state and international income tax issues)

    3. Indirect tax (handles sales tax, property tax, and unclaimed property)

     

    This position will be working with the Research & Consulting area.

    General Responsibilities:

    1. Assists with information gathering for federal/state income tax audits. Analyzes taxing authority notices and responds verbally and/or in writing.

    2. Assists with miscellaneous federal, state and international projects other duties as assigned (e.g., effective state income tax rate, true-up management fees, state uncertain tax positions accrual, reconciling franchise tax liabilities, creating and storing files, entity structure charting, etc.).

    3. Assists with various federal, state and international income tax research projects, including research and writing memos.

    4. Assists with original and/or amended federal/state income/franchise tax returns and/or apportionment computations

    What qualifications you will need:

    + Currently enrolled in and pursuing an Accounting, Finance, or JD degree

    + CPA eligibility is not required but is preferred

    + Ability to **work in-person** part-time during the Spring semester and/or full-time in the Summer depending on the internship timeframe

    + GPA 3.5+ (preferred)

    + Minimum of Junior Status (preferred)
