Amazon is looking for a results-driven Senior Instock Manager to lead Prime Air’s inventory strategy in enabling ultra-fast e-commerce to deliver to our customers in under 30 minutes. This strategic role will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end demand planning process, process execution, and promotional planning to optimize inventory turn. The position bridges the gap between strategic business planning and day-to-day operations, ensuring optimal inventory levels that meet customer demand in just-in-time inventory management at Prime Air’s drone delivery sites. This role will have responsibility for ensuring all inventory systems and processes are meeting the needs of the business and implementing controls around these processes. Key focus areas include driving inventory availability in constrained environment and increasing inventory efficiency with product sourcing decisions. This role demands the agility to navigate across multiple functions and ability to navigate a fast paced environment with excellent analytical abilities.
Key job responsibilities
- Communicate clearly and professionally with senior leadership in reporting, delivering project updates, and handling escalations
- Forecast and manage efficient inbound and outbound inventory flows and health, including forecasting, transshipment planning, and managing down unproductive inventory.
- Measure and improve lead times and improve systems to streamline operations within Amazon.
- Drive root cause analysis/reporting on operational issues, develop action plans and project manage improvements.
- Work with internal teams to help drive tools and process improvements that affect inventory management workflow.
- Establish and monitor KPIs for forecast accuracy, inventory efficiency, and service levels.
Export Control License: This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon’s ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.
About the team
The Prime Air Commercial Ops (ComOps) team’s mission is to execute safe and reliable deliveries that fulfill ultrafast customer promise. We enhance the Amazon experience by providing customers with an increased selection of products at delivery speeds of one hour or less. ComOps owns the last mile of delivery from fulfillment centers through Prime Air Drone Delivery Centers.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience delivering results for large, cross-functional initiatives/projects
- Experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis, or experience in building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making
- Experience with forecasting and statistical analysis
- 6+ years of experience in demand planning, consulting in strategy and operations, supply chain or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree, or MBA in supply chain management, operations, engineering, analytics or related field
- Knowledge of SQL at an intermediate level, including: compile queries, subqueries, aggregation/grouping, data modification, etc.
- Experience developing and executing distribution strategies, tactics, plans, processes, systems and programs

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $103,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $181,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
