The Senior Market Development Professional will be instrumental in driving the Midwest Region’s product strategy and will play an active role in the annual bid process. This role includes competitive analysis, project management, Medicare Advantage plan design and implementation, and cross-functional leadership. Strategic thinking and attention to detail will be key, as well as, partnering effectively with stakeholders across Humana.

The Senior Market Development Professional will be instrumental in driving the Midwest Region’s product strategy and will play an active role in the annual bid process. This role includes competitive analysis, project management, Medicare Advantage plan design & implementation, and cross-functional leadership. Strategic thinking and attention to detail will be key, as well as, partnering effectively with stakeholders across Humana.

+ Acts as project manager for Midwest Region’s annual bid cycle

+ Analyzes the competitive landscape in detail, studying growth trends and anticipating competitor moves

+ Develops and refines our multi-year product strategy for the region

+ Balances growth, financial implications, competitive dynamics, and impact on the member experience when recommending benefit modifications

+ Partners with the Corporate Product Team, Actuarial Team, and local market operations teams to align operations (Stars, network, directory, etc.) with the plan design & plan strategy

+ Reviews plan filings in conjunction with Product Team prior to CMS submission

+ Supports the Sales Leadership with product strategy, agent education, marketing, and product roll-outs

+ Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Role can be based in Humana market office in Dublin, OH (Columbus, OH area), Louisville, KY or be work from home (within OH, IN or KY). Willingness to travel during bid preparation & bid process to work with the team in Ohio and to participate in meetings in Louisville is required. Periodic travel is also needed across the region (OH, IN, KY, MI, WV).

Required Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree

+ 5+ years of experience in a fast-paced insurance or health care setting

+ 2+ years of project or operations management experience

+ Experience implementing and measuring success on complex health-related initiatives and pilots

+ Strong knowledge in MS Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

+ **Periodic travel up to 10%**

+ **Travel to the Ohio and/or Louisville office during bid season**

+ Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

+ Strategic thinker with ability to work independently

+ Strong relationship building skills

+ Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

+ Process-focused, with ability to leverage and enhance existing processes

Additional Information

Work-At-Home Requirements

+ To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria:

+ At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended to support Humana applications, per associate.

+ Wireless, Wired Cable or DSL connection is suggested.

+ Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if they provide an optimal connection for associates. The use of these methods must be approved by leadership. (See Wireless, Wired Cable or DSL Connection in Exceptions, Section 7.0 in this policy.)

+ Humana will not pay for or reimburse Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates for any portion of the cost of their self-provided internet service, with the exception of associates who live or work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota. Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.

+ Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$78,400 - $107,800 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
