Additional Comments About the Peer-to-Peer Collaborative Development Team:- The DSO is creating a peer and community approach to some types of specialized trainings. An in-person experiential-type training, facilitated by State Operations co-workers, clinicians and direct supervisors, will be the best way to effectuate improvements in communication and create healthier workplace communities. Upon the completion of these specialized trainings, the trainers need to be confident in their ability to respond effectively to issues relative to their own workplace and the Individuals served by the DSO. - DSO Peer-to-Peer Collaborative Development Team is a unit created within the DSO Central Office group whose primary goal is for supporting the development and coordination of “Champion or Master Trainers” who are located throughout 6 SO Regions. These Champion or Master Trainers are responsible for promoting, facilitating, and supporting the implementation of specialized and custom designed trainings at a regional and or district level. This work will be focused on programs, initiatives, and measures of progress as they relate to the specialized training programs they are charged to implement. Examples of three specialized trainings that this unit would utilize this approach to learning include “Creating Space” (Inclusion and Belonging), “CARE” (Active Bystander and Abuse Prevention), and the experiential portion of Professional Boundaries trainings.- The Peer-to-Peer Collaborative Development Team will lead and support the development of peer led master trainers and peer led training teams that build internal training capacity for specialized training and learning specialized in-person workshops. The staff working in this unit will ensure strong social interactions within the cadre of trainers resulting in increased training engagement and facilitating the building of healthier workplace communities through its delivery of specialized custom experiential trainings statewide. - The Peer-to-Peer Collaborative Development Team involves colleagues teaching other colleagues within the same organization who work at varying levels and roles and share what they know and learn with each other. This strategy encourages collaboration and capitalizes on the shared experiences that colleagues have with one another. This training approach of peer-to-peer learning involves employees with shared goals engaging with each other and discussing critical concepts involved in healthier work communities. They share what they know and learn new skills in an open and welcoming format. Not only does this benefit those learning, but it can benefit the trainers themselves by reinforcing helpful concepts or strategies.Location: • Preferred Location: OD Heck - 500 Balltown Rd Schenectady NY 12304 • Alternate Location option: 44 Holland Avenue, Albany NY Telecommuting to be discussed at interview.
