LOCATION OF POSITION: Fairport NY 14450;Special Education and Student Services
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:12-Month Position; Full-Time
STARTING DATE: As Soon As Possible
SALARY RANGE: $18.50 - $25.00 per hour
*Actual Salary is Dependent Upon Education, Experience and Contract.
DUTIES:
1. Maintain data management systems including but not limited to Medicaid reporting data collection, caseloads and IEP services.
2. Utilization of database systems for attendance and related services session reporting.
3. Maintain accurate data and Medicaid reporting for component districts and state reporting.
4. Utilization of district-wide system for Individual Education Program (IEP), generating listings and reports as requested.
5. Prepare and proofread various documents using a variety of software systems.
6. General clerical duties including phone and email for responsibilities associated to this position.
7. Other duties assigned by the administrator of the program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Civil Service eligibility forClerk I: Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus either:
(A) Four (4) years of paid full-time or its part-time or volunteer equivalent office clerical or secretarial experience; OR,
(B) An associate degree in Secretarial Science, Office Technology, or a closely related field, plus two (2) years of experience as described in (A) above; OR,
(C) An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.
NOTES:
* Successful completion of one (1) year of college coursework (or 30 semester credit hours) from a New York State registered or regionally accredited college or university may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience.
* Experience as a Teller, Cashier or Salesclerk shall not be considered office clerical experience.
2. Experience with NYS Medicaid systems preferred.
3. Work independently to anticipate and respond to questions, district and administrative needs.
4. Exhibit effective problem-solving skills in daily interactions with all internal and external staff and families.
5. Exceptional phone, interpersonal and communication skills.
6. High quality management and organizational skills with attention to detail.
7. Ability to work independently ensuring required timelines are met.
8. Ability to work with multiple tasks simultaneously and to meet deadlines as part of an office team, while remaining flexible to changing priorities.
9. Strong proficiency with the following software, Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel, Frontline Education applications, WinCap Web, WinCap Financial, Company Mileage, and other software as determined by the department administrator.
10. Experience working in a school setting preferred.
11. Physically able to perform essential functions of the position (with or without reasonable accommodation).
