    We are seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial Principal Engineer/Hydrogeologist to lead and expand our Solid Waste Engineering Practice across Northern California, Oregon, and Washington State. This is a high-impact role for a seasoned professional with deep technical expertise and strong client relationships in the solid waste and landfill sectors.

    Responsibilities

    •Business Development & Client Engagement

     

    oAct as a seller/doer, leveraging existing relationships and cultivating new ones with municipal and private clients in the solid waste industry.

     

    oIdentify and pursue new business opportunities, track leads, and develop winning proposals in collaboration with the Solid Waste Group Leader based in our Irvine, CA office

     

    oRepresent the firm at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to enhance visibility and drive growth.

     

    •Technical Leadership & Project Delivery

     

    oServe as the technical lead on proposals, project execution, and quality assurance of deliverables.

     

    oProvide strategic oversight and mentorship to junior staff and project teams.

    oLead multidisciplinary projects involving:

    •Civil design

    •Geotechnical and hydrogeologic investigations

    •Construction management and construction quality assurance (CM/CQA)

    •Regulatory compliance and permitting for municipal and hazardous waste landfills

    Qualifications

    •Education & Licensure

     

    oMaster’s or PhD in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or Hydrogeology

    oCalifornia PE or Certified Hydrogeologist (CHG) required; GE license preferred for geotechnical candidates

    •Experience

     

    oMinimum 15 years of progressive experience in solid waste engineering

    oProven track record in technical delivery, business development, and team leadership

    oStrong network of contacts in the solid waste and landfill sectors across the western U.S.

    Salary Range:

    170k-220k
