    About the Indiana Alcohol & Tobacco Commission:

    The general purposes of the Alcohol & Tobacco Commission's work, as defined by law, are:

    • To protect the economic welfare, health, peace and morals of the people of this state

    • To regulate and limit the manufacture, sale, possession, and use of alcohol and alcoholic beverages

    • To provide for the raising of revenue

    Role Overview:

    This position serves as a permit processor within the Specialty Permit Division of the Alcohol and Tobacco Commission, reporting directly to the Manager of the Division. The Program Coordinator is responsible for performing a variety of administrative tasks to support the Law Enforcement and permit processing Divisions.

    Responsibilities include:

    + Compile information relative to the assigned program area. Coordinating work activities of

    + administrative and support services such as preparing correspondence, maintaining reference and resource material, and updating files, forms, and reports;

    + Coordinate correspondence for information requests. Maintaining complete forms, filing,

    + processing, and accuracy control system through the maintenance of special records and through on going contacts with other agencies and departments;

    + Organize and maintain current and historical files related to the program. Ensuring completion of appropriate application or eligibility forms for services, monitoring validity of information submitted, compliance with regulations, and inclusion of proper signatures and required driving record is provided if necessary.

    + Organize program reports, applications, and maintain consultative services.

    + Assist the Division Manager in preparing all program related training materials.

    + General knowledge of the program area. Answering questions and providing technical

    + information to the public and other agencies regarding special regulations or methods of solving problems;

    + Basic knowledge of the rules and regulations pertaining to the assigned program area and its affects upon other agency operations.

    + Ability to gather and compile program materials.

    + Ability to communicate effectively. Receiving a variety of correspondence, eligibility forms, and/or informational inquiries and preparing responses to same or determining appropriate procedures to gather information or process forms;

    + Ability to operate effectively in a group decision-making process.

    + Tact in dealing with other agency personnel and the public.

    + Basic knowledge of accounting principles. Handling of large sums of money. Running credit

    + cards etc.

    + Maintaining confidentiality of resource information following agency policy and legal constraints.

    Salary Statement:

    The salary for this position traditionally starts at $34,216.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.

     

    A Day in the Life:

    The essential functions of this role are as follows:

    Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

    This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
