    Perform technology-related activities associated with the use of BIM (Building Information Modeling). Provide BIM production support for Structural Engineering teams, including project model setup, development of parametric families and parametric content, primary discipline project work, and deliverable setup. Create conceptual structural modeling based on verbal direction or rough sketches from engineers or other designers. Incorporate department and Client standards in modeling and construction documents. Take complete ownership of their portion of the structural scope, reliably working to meet schedule and quality requirements. Highly proficient in checking own work for completeness and quality. Coordinate work with related disciplines to avoid clashes. Able to assist team with finding answers to technical questions and concerns Proactive in advancing workflows, systems, and tools within their own discipline, including design automation skills; embraces emerging technologies. Able to provide quality reviews of models and documents prepared by others to assure design and project standards are met. Provide leadership for a small team of designers. Coordinate the work of the designer team, assigning work, balancing workloads, monitoring progress towards deadlines, and ensuring quality standards are met. Take responsibility for internal, cross-discipline, and external package reviews. Attend meetings and take an active role to help your team resolve concerns and solve problems across disciplines.

    REQUIREMENTS: This position requires an Associate degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Aided Drafting, Drafting and Design Technology or related field and 8 years of work experience in the job offered or related occupation.

     

    SPECIFIC SKILLS: Expertise/ knowledge of: AutoCAD and MicroStation. Revit. Dynamo scripting. Experience with hospitals. Modeling and detailing with a variety of structural systems, including but not limited to, steel, concrete, post-tensioned concrete, wood detailing. Lead practice with automating BIM design. Creating projects from conception. Drafting/design/detailing experience in the Structural field. Bluebeam.
