Job Title: Machine Operator - 2nd Shift

Job Description

Join our team as a Machine Operator in a structural steel fabrication shop that is expanding its operations. You will initially train on the 1st shift for a few weeks before transitioning to the 2nd shift. This role involves operating fabrication equipment and the iron machine to produce parts and roll forms.

Responsibilities

+ Operate fabrication equipment and iron machine to produce structural steel parts.

+ Train on the 1st shift and transition to the 2nd shift upon completion of training.

+ Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate production.

+ Handle and lift materials weighing up to 75lbs.

+ Maintain safety standards while operating machinery and using hand, grinding, and power tools.

Essential Skills

+ 2+ years of metal manufacturing experience in a shop environment.

+ Mechanical aptitude and ability to read blueprints.

+ Experience in fabrication and machine operation.

+ Safety-conscious attitude when working around machines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Previous experience as a shop helper.

+ Experience using hand tools, grinding, and power tools.

Work Environment

Work in a smaller-sized, dynamic shop with around 20 employees. The environment can be noisy with welders and grinders operating, so safety is paramount. The shop fosters teamwork, with employees collaborating across different areas. The 1st shift operates Monday to Thursday from 6am to 4pm, with half days on Fridays for training. The 2nd shift runs Monday to Thursday from 4pm to 2am, with overtime as necessary.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
