Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic responsible for mechanical repairs on equipment, primarily focusing on troubleshooting and repairing conveyor systems and mobile equipment such as forklifts and skid steers. The role involves light fabrication, hydraulic work, and maintenance on shredder machines, with a workload that is 95% mechanical and 5% electrical.
Responsibilities
+ Perform mechanical repairs and troubleshooting on conveyor systems, including swapping out drives and 3-phase motors.
+ Conduct maintenance on mobile equipment, replacing hydraulic hoses, conducting light fabrication, and changing hydraulic cylinders.
+ Change out blades and augers on shredder machines.
+ Perform preventative maintenance (PM) and reactive maintenance (RM), focusing 80% on PM.
+ Handle challenging tasks such as changing belts on a conveyor line, swapping out head pulleys, and changing bearings.
+ Document all PMs and make notes on visual inspections to plan future maintenance and repairs.
Essential Skills
+ 4+ years of mechanic/industrial maintenance experience from auto mechanic, millwright, or industrial maintenance backgrounds.
+ General hydraulic/pneumatic experience, including swapping out hoses and replacing o-rings.
+ Experience performing PMs on equipment, including checking fluid levels, greasing bearings, and changing belts.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Ability to troubleshoot 480v 3-phase motors.
+ VFD troubleshooting experience.
+ PLC/electrical troubleshooting experience.
+ Experience troubleshooting and repairing mobile equipment such as cranes, yard trucks, skid steers, and forklifts.
+ Computer skills for documenting maintenance activities.

Work Environment
The work environment is a metal recycling facility focusing on Non-Ferrous metals, operating both indoors and outdoors. Employees should be comfortable working in dusty, dirty, and loud conditions. **2nd and 3rd shift available. 2nd shift from 3pm to 11:30pm, Monday through Friday, with at least 45 hours per week . 3rd shift from 11pm to 7am, Sunday night through Friday morning with a $1 shift premium** . Plenty of optional overtime. **Pay $25-$30** .
