    Job Title: Piping Analysis EngineerJob Description

     

    The Piping Analysis Engineer will join a dynamic Mechanical Analysis team tasked with conducting comprehensive analyses on reactor systems and components. This includes piping evaluations, stress analyses, fracture evaluations, seismic and load assessments, and vibrational response evaluations to ensure performance and regulatory compliance. The role involves strong collaboration with various teams such as hardware design, containment, core analysis, fuels, and civil structural teams to address and resolve emergent customer issues.

    Responsibilities

    + Understand, define, and analyze piping and pipe supports to meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.

    + Utilize knowledge and experience to provide solutions and outcomes to customers.

    + Collaborate across the organization to develop approaches for solving technical issues and communicate potential solutions effectively.

    + Provide leadership and technical direction to personnel and projects.

    + Support procurement and subcontract activities as needed.

    + Maintain and develop technical design procedures associated with piping and pipe support analysis activities.

    + Deliver high-quality engineering analyses and engage customers to define scope, review results, and discuss technical risks.

    + Liaise with customers in partnership with engineering leadership and project management.

    + Interface with cross-functional teams and departments to complete assigned activities.

    + Improve project execution and department management through lean methodology and Design to Cost principles.

    + Provide clear and complete analysis documentation in accordance with engineering procedures.

    + Coach and mentor less experienced engineers to enhance overall knowledge and ensure successful outcomes.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Structural; an associate degree may be considered with additional experience.

    + At least 5 years of experience in piping analysis within a nuclear environment.

    + Experience with commercial software such as PIPESTRESS, AutoPIPE, or Caesar, and comfort with legacy code.

    + Proficiency in documentation and technical writing for reports.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Knowledge of Section 3 analysis including subsections NB, NC/ND and NF.

    + Class 1 Fatigue Design experience.

    + Minimum 5-10 years of experience in piping and/or pipe supports design and analysis.

    + Nuclear Industry knowledge and experience.

    + Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

    + Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

    + Strong analytical and process skills.

    + Data analysis capabilities and ability to create small automation scripts.

    + Ability to work effectively within a highly collaborative environment.

    + Demonstrated initiative and leadership in facilitating meetings and mentoring coworkers.

    Work Environment

    The position is fully remote with minimal travel required. Candidates must be comfortable working with legacy codes, although some commercial software may occasionally be used.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract position based out of Wilmington, North Carolina.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $85.00/hr.
