Mechanical Engineer – HVAC Design (Hybrid | NYC)

Join a collaborative engineering team designing high-performance HVAC systems for commercial and institutional projects.

We’re hiring an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to support the delivery of complex building systems projects through all phases—from concept to construction. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work closely with architects and engineers in a dynamic Midtown Manhattan studio, with Fridays remote and unlimited PTO.

About the Role

You’ll work directly under the Engineering Principal and Project Engineer, managing multiple projects and contributing to HVAC system design, documentation, and coordination. This role is ideal for someone with strong Revit skills, load calculation experience, and a passion for precision and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

+ Manage multiple projects concurrently with strong internal communication

+ Perform mechanical load calculations and equipment sizing

+ Prepare mechanical drawings, piping diagrams, plans, and schedules

+ Review shop drawings for accuracy and compliance

+ Conduct detailed site surveys and apply building code knowledge

Qualifications

+ 3+ years of professional experience in mechanical engineering

+ Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)

+ Expert proficiency in Revit for 3D drafting

+ Proficiency in AutoCAD and HVAC design

+ Strong understanding of mechanical codes and building systems

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $37.00 - $44.00/hr.
