    Wastewater Treatment Operator – Direct Hire | Aerospace | Metro Detroit

     

    The **Adecco Permanent Recruitment Group** has partnered with a **growing Aerospace company in Metro Detroit** to recruit a **Wastewater Treatment Operator** . This is a **full-time, direct hire** role with long-term stability and the opportunity to work in a **highly regulated, technical manufacturing environment** supporting environmentally critical operations.

    Position Summary:

    The Wastewater Treatment Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining the facility’s wastewater treatment system. This includes process control, equipment inspections, chemical handling, recordkeeping, and compliance with all applicable **state and federal environmental regulations** .

     

    This is a **hands-on role** requiring mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to safe and compliant operations.

     

    ?** **Key Responsibilities:

    + Operate and monitor wastewater treatment equipment and systems

    + Adjust treatment processes based on system readings, lab data, and operational status

    + Conduct equipment inspections and routine maintenance (valves, pumps, gauges, aerators, etc.)

    + Perform sludge wasting and operate the sludge press

    + Add chemicals to maintain proper pH and treatment balance

    + Collect and transport samples for lab testing; interpret data as needed

    + Maintain accurate logs, inspection sheets, and regulatory reporting

    + Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on systems and support emergency response when required

    + Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment

    + Assist in troubleshooting and repair of treatment equipment

    Qualifications:

    + **High School Diploma or GED required**

    + **3–5 years of experience** operating a wastewater treatment system in an industrial or manufacturing environment

    + Basic knowledge of chemistry and wastewater treatment principles

    + Ability to read and interpret meters, gauges, schematics, and maintenance manuals

    + Experience operating tools and equipment such as pH meters, D.O. meters, forklifts, hand tools, and lab testing equipment

    + Familiarity with environmental regulations at the federal, state, and local levels

    + Strong safety awareness and ability to respond to operational emergencies

    + Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or Chemistry is a **plus** , but not required

    Ideal Candidate Competencies:

    + Strong mechanical and chemical process troubleshooting skills

    + Solid understanding of occupational safety standards in wastewater environments

    + Computer literacy (data entry, basic reporting, MS Office)

    + Ability to work independently and maintain detailed records

    + Effective communicator and team player

    **Pay Details:** $23.00 to $28.00 per hour
