Job Title: General Production Worker

Job Description

The role of a General Production Worker involves performing repetitive hand polishing and buffing operations on a variety of parts using prescribed wheels and abrasives. You will be responsible for setting up polishing/buffing equipment, selecting proper wheels and abrasives, and changing wheels and belts as specified. Additionally, you will load, process, and unload parts from mechanical tumbling and automated sandblast machines, monitor media wear, and replace as needed. The role also involves preparing finished parts for the next operation in the value stream and completing necessary documentation, performing preventive maintenance activities, maintaining a disciplined 6S checklist routine, and other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

+ Perform repetitive hand polishing and buffing operations on various parts.

+ Set up polishing/buffing equipment and select appropriate wheels and abrasives.

+ Change wheels and belts as specified.

+ Load, process, and unload parts from mechanical tumbling and automated sandblast machines.

+ Monitor tumbling and blasting media wear and replace as needed.

+ Prepare finished parts for the next operation and complete documentation.

+ Perform preventive maintenance activities and daily equipment inspections.

+ Maintain a disciplined 6S checklist routine.

+ Perform other related duties as assigned by the production supervisor.

Essential Skills

+ Minimum 1 to 2 years’ experience in a similar or manufacturing environment.

+ High School Diploma.

+ Ability to follow written instructions.

+ Proficient communication skills including verbal and written.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in production, assembly, machine operation, packaging, and inspection.

Work Environment

This position requires standing for 8 hours per day or more, walking for 6 to 8 hours per day, and frequently lifting, pushing, and pulling 30 to 50 lbs. The role involves stooping, kneeling, and bending occasionally for 2 hours per day. You must consistently operate a productivity machine for a minimum of 6 hours per day and be able to communicate effectively with other team members.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Haven, Connecticut.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $18.50/hr.
