Job Title: Pipefitter/Plumber

Job Description

The Pipefitter/Plumber will be responsible for laying out, fabricating, assembling, installing, and maintaining piping systems, pipe supports, fixtures, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. You will work off of prints and use hand and power tools to complete various tasks.

Responsibilities

+ Select type and size of pipe and related materials and equipment according to job specifications.

+ Cut pipe using hacksaw, pipe cutter, hammer and chisel, cutting torch, and pipe cutting machine.

+ Thread pipe using threading machine.

+ Bend pipe by hand or with pipe-bending tools and machine.

+ Mount pipe hangers and brackets on walls and ceiling to hold pipe.

+ Assemble and install metal or nonmetal pipes and pipe fittings using various joint methods and hand tools.

+ Secure pipes to structure with brackets, clamps, and hangers using hand and power tools.

+ Install and maintain refrigeration and air conditioning systems including compressors, pumps, meters, pneumatic and hydraulic controls, and piping.

+ Test piping systems and weld pipe supports to structural steel members.

Essential Skills

+ Experience with pipe fitting and plumbing installations.

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

+ Strong understanding of plumbing fittings and threading pipe.

+ Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction, piping, and brazing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Strong math skills to the nearest 16th of an inch.

Work Environment

Work on the 1st shift from 5am-3:30pm (Monday-Friday) with every other Saturday required. Sundays are double time, and overtime is paid after 40 hours. The new facility boasts state-of-the-art features with large bay doors but is not climate-controlled. Safety gear such as steel toes, eye protection, and hearing protection is required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Darien, Wisconsin.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $32.00/hr.
