Job Description

The Refrigeration/HVAC Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing commercial HVAC and supermarket rack refrigeration systems across retail facilities. This role ensures optimal equipment performance and safety, supporting smooth store operations.

Responsibilities

+ Troubleshoot and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC/R systems.

+ Diagnose and repair refrigeration and HVAC issues using digital and manual tools.

+ Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.

+ Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and industry regulations.

+ Maintain accurate records of repairs, refrigerant usage, and inventory.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Vocational/Technical HVAC/R certification and 2+ years of experience, or 4+ years of relevant experience.

+ EPA Type I and II certification.

+ Experience with large-scale rack refrigeration systems.

+ Valid driver’s license; ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work at heights.

Work Environment

Work involves navigating narrow, confined spaces such as storage areas and mechanical rooms. Exposure to varying temperatures, including extreme heat, cold, wet, or drafty conditions, is common. Technicians may work on rooftops, scaffolding, or in ceiling spaces and must be prepared to move over uneven or slippery surfaces, especially during inclement weather. Overnight shifts and varying schedules may be required, with frequent travel between facilities.

This is a Permanent position based out of Riverdale, New Jersey.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $94000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
