    Job Title: Construction Laborer

    Job Description

    The Construction Laborer will support the commercial construction team. This role involves assisting with various construction tasks, ensuring job sites are prepared, and supporting skilled tradespeople in building high-quality structures.

    Responsibilities

    + Assist with site preparation, including clearing debris and setting up materials.

    + Load, unload, and transport construction materials to designated areas.

    + Operate basic hand and power tools safely and efficiently.

    + Support carpenters, masons, and other tradespeople with tasks such as framing, drywall installation, and concrete work.

    + Perform digging, leveling, and grading for foundations and landscaping.

    + Install and maintain temporary structures, such as scaffolding and safety barriers.

    + Follow safety protocols and ensure a clean, hazard-free work environment.

    + Assist in final site cleanup and preparation for inspections.

    Essential Skills

    + 6 months to 1 year of experience in commercial, residential, or roofing as a laborer or carpenter's helper.

    + Basic carpentry hand tools and knowledge of job site safety.

    + Reliable transportation.

    + Ability to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions.

    + Basic knowledge of construction tools and techniques.

    + Strong work ethic, reliability, and teamwork skills.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Previous experience in construction or manual labor in landscaping, roofing, industrial manufacturing, or maintenance.

    + Ability to learn and take direction from supervisors.

    + Ability to travel to multiple job sites per day.

    + OSHA 10 certification is preferred, but not required.

    Work Environment

The work shift is Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with potential overtime on weekdays and occasionally weekends.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rome, New York.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
