    Job Description:

    As a Forensic Manufacturing Engineer at this client, you will be directly responsible for building, testing, qualifying, and producing next-generation spacecraft. You will utilize innovative solutions and cutting-edge technology to solve difficult manufacturing and engineering problems on a daily basis, at both a systems and specialized level. You will be a critical lynchpin between the production, development, tooling, supply chain, and quality teams, and will lead production on the assembly line as well as new production introduction. You will be responsible for developing and executing root cause analysis on defective or failed production modules, in order to develop technical process improvements that drive production yield to 100%.

     

    Key Job Responsibilities

     

    - Develop production process technical documentation, including defining, testing, validating, documenting, and deploying new rework procedures, work order routings, bills of material, and test report structures.

     

    - Collaborate with the design engineering team to deliver technical solutions for recurring defect modes.

    - Lead root cause analysis of failed or defective production materials, including:

    + Documenting and approving teardown/investigation plans,

    + Executing special test and teardown procedures,

    + Recording investigation findings and conclusions on defect root causes,

    + Developing corrective action plans to prevent future defects.

    MUST HAVES:

    - Familiarity with low-rate manufacturing environments and new product introduction (NPI)

     

    - Knowledge of Lean manufacturing practices principles

     

    - 3-8 years of experience with root cause analysis techniques such as Fishbone, Fault Tree, DMAIC, etc.

     

    - 3-8 years of experience with optical system performance metrology

     

    BS/MS of: Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Optics/Optical Sciences

    NICE TOHAVES:

    - Experience with SAP or similar ERP software

     

    - Experience with NX Unigraphics of similar CAD software

     

    - Experience with Aerospace and/or Optical Manufacturing

     

    - Experience with Fiber Optic Systems

     

    - Experience with Statistical Analysis Software such as Minitab

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $75.00 - $79.48/hr.
