    We are hiring a Research and Development Technician to support a major food manufacturer in Chicago, IL. This role offers an exciting opportunity to gain experience in a rapidly growing company with a diverse range of product lines.

    Responsibilities

    + Support food scientists and product developers on 2-3 projects simultaneously.

    + Assist with formulation work and submit samples to analytical teams or outsourced laboratories.

    + Accurately document results and findings, and communicate effectively with the product development team.

    Essential Skills

    + 2-3 years of experience working in a food R&D or Product Development laboratory.

    + Proficiency in R&D processes, SOPs, laboratory practices, and formulation.

    + Knowledge of food science and product development.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with pasta sauce or salsa formulation is highly desirable.

    + Experience in new product development and commercialization.

    + Bachelor's degree in food science or a related field.

    Work Environment

    This is a 6-month to 1-year contract with the potential to extend or become permanent, depending on performance and budget. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with a 45-minute lunch break. The position is based on-site at the Chicago headquarters, located in a brand new space above Macy's on State Street. The facility includes multiple labs, such as the customer experience and showcase lab, providing exposure to various product groups like pasta sauce/salsa, nuts, cocoa, spices, coffee, beverages, and dairy.

    This is a Contract position based out of Chicago, Illinois.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
