    Join our dynamic team as the leader of the agile cross-functional technology team in M&T Wilmington Trust’s Wealth line of business. Reporting directly to the Divisional CIO for Wealth, ICS, Core Banking, Payments, and Data, this highly visible role offers a unique opportunity to drive innovation and influence growth in a key business area.

     

    In this role, you will have the opportunity to build and expand the current IT team supporting the Wealth group. Wealth is a critical income diversification business for M&T, and you will partner closely with the Line of Business (LOB) to drive simplification, strategic growth and transformation. Your leadership will ensure that technology is a key enabler of market success.

     

    Technology is a major component of Wealth’s ability to go to market and win. Our technology team boasts a sizable software engineering capability and pragmatically leverages vendor platforms when appropriate. This role offers the chance to lead cloud transformation and drive technological advancements. We seek talented leaders with proven expertise to drive the growth of Wealth Technology. Familiarity with Retail and Commercial Trust, Investment Management, Payments and other Wealth-oriented platforms is preferred. Experience in scaled agile software development and cloud migration is preferred, offering opportunities to lead high-impact projects and drive technological advancements.

    As the Wealth Technology Leader, your key responsibilities will include:

    + Provide deep technical expertise, leadership, and a strong understanding of the Wealth Management business to ensure technology solutions drive operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, client satisfaction, and business growth.

    + Develop and execute a technology strategy that drives cloud adoption and aligns with the firm’s wealth management goals, including client relationship management, portfolio management, and regulatory compliance.

    + Identify emerging technologies and evaluate their applicability to enhance wealth management operations.

    + Oversee the integration of wealth management platforms (e.g., CRM, portfolio management systems, financial planning tools) with internal and external systems.

    + Drive simplification of the technology architecture, retirement of platforms, vendor negotiations and design of future state platforms and processes

    Education and Experience Required:

    A combined minimum of 15 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 4 years’ engineering and/or architecture experience and 11 years' large technology management / program leadership experience including people management

     

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills

     

    Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver complex projects simultaneously.

     

    Experience on large system enhancements, conversions, and production problem resolution

     

    Proven track record of leading teams across multiple geographic locations and time zones, delivering successful large-scale projects.

    Education and Experience Preferred:

    Business knowledge:

    + Experience with specific Investment Management platforms for trading, portfolio management and client reporting; and Banking products (deposits, customized lending and SBLs)

    + Experience with Private Banking, Family Office, Trust and Estate services

    Tech expertise:

    + Experience managing engineering team(s)

    + Preferably very technical coming from dev background

    + Experience with cloud transformation; Azure preferred

    + Strong cross-organizational leadership skills

    + Strong problem solving, analytical, decision-making skills

    + Strong system architecture/design skills

    + Experience or familiarity with wealth technology platforms such as SEI Trust 3000, FIS Global Plus, Charles River

    M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $201,089.24 - $335,148.73 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
