Job Title: Fuels Quality Control Manager
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Fuels Quality Control Manager to oversee quality control procedures on fuels projects, maintenance activities, and service orders. This role involves coordination and review of third-party inspections and material testing, working with project managers to create relevant quality control measures, and monitoring construction activities to ensure compliance with schedules, project specifications, and industry standards.
Responsibilities
+ Oversee quality control procedures on fuels projects, maintenance activities, and service orders.
+ Coordinate and review third-party inspections and material testing.
+ Collaborate with Project Managers, Maintenance Managers, and Service Order Managers to develop quality control measures and project-specific QC requirements.
+ Monitor construction, maintenance, and repair activities to ensure compliance with schedules, project drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
+ Assist in preparing and executing Request for Information (RFIs) requests with designers and engineers to resolve site issues promptly and cost-effectively.
+ Effectively communicate quality control performance issues with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Site Managers.
+ Identify potential disputes and claims in project design and construction, and determine resolutions.
+ Maintain strict adherence to budgetary guidelines, quality, and safety standards.
+ Perform and follow the USACE 3 phase inspection process.
+ Conduct field inspections to ensure compliance and quality.
+ Ensure project documents and deliverables are complete and accurate.
Essential Skills
+ Quality control expertise in fuels and construction projects.
+ Knowledge of USACE and federal construction standards.
+ A minimum of three years' experience as a site Quality Control Manager on DOD Fuels System construction and repair projects.
+ Experience with POL construction projects, including DoD/Military POL facilities, Fuels Infrastructure improvements, API 653 tank repairs, tank cleaning, API 570 pipeline repairs, and environmental improvements.
+ Experience in DoD construction projects with USACE, NAVFAC, AFCEC, ANG, AF Reserve, and US Coast Guard.
+ Working knowledge of Uniform Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS), UFC 3-460-01 Design: Petroleum Fuel Facilities, UFC 3-460-03 O&M: Maintenance of Petroleum Systems.
+ Broad knowledge of POL systems to effectively communicate and understand technical issues.
+ Familiarity with API 653, API 570, STI, ASME B16.5, and ASME 31.3 standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Working knowledge of AW78-24-27: DoD Aboveground Vertical Steel Fuel Tanks with Fixed Roof.
+ Knowledge of AW78-24-28: DoD Pressurized Hydrant Fueling System Type III.
Work Environment
The work environment involves overseeing construction and maintenance activities within DoD Fuels System projects. The role requires strict adherence to safety standards and budget guidelines. The individual will collaborate with various project managers and site managers to ensure quality control measures are effectively implemented.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of San Antonio, Texas but candidates can sit anywhere in the continental US within 50 miles of an airport.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
