    Job Title: Electrical EngineerJob Description

     

    Join a team that supports a diverse array of industrial systems, from compact machinery to high-capacity thermal processing units. This role demands a strong foundation in automation, electrical diagnostics, and system integration across multiple platforms and technologies.

    Responsibilities

    + Evaluate and resolve issues within intricate automation frameworks, spanning everything from standalone devices to large-scale thermal systems.

    + Utilize diagnostic tools and software to interpret and troubleshoot ladder logic and control sequences, particularly within Automation Direct environments.

    + Implement and verify protective systems using safety-rated components to ensure operational integrity and regulatory adherence.

    + Apply electromagnetic theory to maintain and optimize induction-based heating systems, including melt furnaces and associated power modules.

    + Configure and maintain variable frequency drives (VFDs), servo systems, and DC motor controllers from manufacturers such as ABB, Baldor, Bardac, and Control Techniques.

    + Set up and debug temperature control units, with emphasis on programmable controllers like Eurotherm, ensuring precise thermal management.

    + Work with various sensor types (e.g., K and J thermocouples), analog signal processing (millivolt, 4-20 mA, 0-10 VDC), and PID loops for accurate instrumentation feedback.

    + Support electrically controlled hydraulic systems, including solenoid-actuated valves, motor-driven pumps, and integrated control circuits.

    + Operate across multiple voltage tiers, including 480V three-phase, 240V single-phase, 120V AC, and low-voltage DC systems.

    + Provide leadership and technical guidance to maintenance teams and engineering staff, fostering efficient problem-solving and system reliability.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in electrical engineering, with a focus on automation, PLCs, and VFDs.

    + Strong troubleshooting skills in equipment setup and maintenance within manufacturing environments.

    + Familiarity with motor drive systems and integrated automation platforms.

    + Ability to interpret technical documentation, including wiring layouts and control schematics.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Technologies, or a closely related discipline.

    + 10 years of experience in production or industrial settings with direct involvement in electrical system maintenance and optimization.

    + Experience with electromagnetic heating applications, particularly in high-temperature processing environments, is highly desirable.

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Warwick, Rhode Island.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $115000.00/hr.
